SCSU President Visits MCHS

Marlboro County High School prides itself in taking a proactive approach in preparing students for post secondary opportunities.  To support this effort,  school officials coordinated an informational session to allow students to hear from President James E. Clark regarding the limitless college/career opportunities at South Carolina State University. Principal Derwin Farr introduced President Clark and shared how SC State shaped his educational career.  During his presentation, President Clark emphasized that since 1896, South Carolina State University, located in Orangeburg, has maintained a legacy of excellence in education. He shared how the university has produced generations of scholars and leaders in business, military service, government, athletics, education, medicine, science, engineering technology and more.  In addition, students engaged President Clark and his panel in a question and answer session related to the University's academic, admissions and extracurricular activity policies.   At the conclusion. Dr. Gregory McCord, Superintendent of Marlboro County School District, challenged students to complete college applications, apply for financial aid and actively pursue scholarships to translate their college dreams into reality.
