Board Votes to Extend Superintendent's Contract

McCordMarlboro County School District Board of Trustees voted to extend Superintendent Dr. Gregory A. McCord’s contract for one year. His contract now runs through June 20, 2023.

Board Chair Larry McNeil thanked Dr. McCord for the work he and his team have been able to complete before and during the pandemic.

Dr. McCord thanked the School Board members who voted to extend the contract and extended an opportunity to work more closely with the board, community, staff, and students. Dr. McCord thanked his principals and administrative team and shared that, “it is because of you we have been able to be successful thus far”.

The motion passed 6 to 3. Board members who voted in favor were Larry McNeil, Kathy Manville, Rev. James E. Smith, David Flowers, Danny Driggers, and Janice Bright. Board members who voted against were Michael Coachman, Reginald Gaymon, and Jackie Branch.
